Vision

The Anne Boykin Institute for the Advancement of Caring in Nursing is the global catalyst for promoting the universal visibility and significance of caring in nursing.

Mission

The Anne Boykin Institute for the Advancement of Caring in Nursing provides the global leadership for nursing education, practice, and research grounded in caring; promotes the valuing of caring across disciplines; and supports the caring mission of the Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing.

History of the Institute

The Anne Boykin Institute for the Advancement of Caring in Nursing was created in 2011 through a generous gift from benefactor, Christine E. Lynn. Christine Lynn, a longtime friend and supporter of the College, made this gift at the time of Dean Boykin’s retirement as a way to mark the significant and long-standing commitment and dedication of the College to advance the knowledge of caring in nursing. This endowment provides a unique and special opportunity for the College to continue its leadership in making visible the global significance of caring in nursing.
